Ann Gordon is a creative director and multidisciplinary artist with over 17 years of experience leading brand, print, and product design initiatives across fashion, home, culture, and the non-profit health sector. She currently consults independently, partnering with clients on projects ranging from full-scale brand creative direction to pitch work, design consulting, brand books, print collateral, research, and licensing business development.

She has overseen campaigns and creative for clients including Anti Social Social Club, Laura Ashley, Martha Stewart, Kenneth Cole Reaction, Le Tigre, Nordstrom, DJM Capital, Kodak, Quiksilver, Hudson’s Bay Company, G/FORE, Modern Amusement, and various private equity–backed and founder-led brands.

Ann earned her BFA in Detroit, where she began her career as a fine artist and gallerist—running her own gallery and establishing herself as a curator, critic, and documentarian. Born and raised in Detroit, she left in 2007 for Europe and the Middle East, eventually settling in Berlin before moving to Los Angeles. She now lives in Joshua Tree, California (with frequent travel). She has contributed to numerous publications and has been written about by The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and Interview magazine, among others.

Her foundation in conceptual art and an enduring obsession with fashion — including a philosophy of wearing her art and sewing like she paints — continues to shape her creative approach. These ideas also drive her ongoing conceptual clothing work under the name TRYHARDER. She also has a shoe obsession, avoids eating blue foods, and loves stand-up comedy.
